Search for elements by filter and grouping into sets.

Finds elements in the model using a filter that can include multiple search terms. Found elements can be combined into groups - Search sets.

Find elements

Interface:

File - working with files that include saved search terms

Range - selection area of elements in the model

Filter - a field for adding search terms

Actions with search terms:

  1. There are two options for adding:

- right-click on an empty field and select "Create"

- click on the "Add condition" button

  1. To delete, right-click on the line and select "Delete"

To delete multiple lines, select lines using Shift or Ctrl + A

  1. To move, place the cursor on the required line and hold down the left mouse button and drag down or up

Element selection principle

  1. If necessary, select only by category

start entering its text name in the "Category" column, after entering the first letters, recommendations will appear

  1. If necessary, select only by parameter

start entering its text name in the "Parameter" column, after entering the first letters, recommendations will appear
Note: it is possible to search according to the Category + Parameter principle.

  1. "Condition" allows you to select the following values:

= equally

 

> more

>= more or equal

< less

<= less or equal

  1. Inversion allows you to invert the condition

not= not equal

  1. "Value" enter the exact text or numeric value of the parameter

For Yes / No parameters, enter a number:

  1. Empty columns - the ability to put brackets
    Example: (Value1 and Value2) or (Value3 and Value4)
  2. "Save filter" saves the search terms in a group - filter for future use
  3. "Remove filter" removes previously saved filters
  4. "Search" searches for elements based on specified search terms

Results - displays search results by filter

Selection - an area for working with elements that are in the "Results" window

Find Elements allows you to work in the background with all Revit features, including element selection. (move the cursor over the element and select with the left mouse button, for multiple Shift + LMB)

Entire project - allows you to select all elements of the project

By filter - selects only elements that meet the search condition

Add Selected - adds the selected elements to the list formed by the filter.

Delete Selected - deletes the selected elements to the list formed by the filter.

Save set - saves the elements in the "Results" window to a set for further selection

Delete set - deletes previously saved sets

Select - selects elements from the Results window

Isolate - isolates elements from the Results window in the view

Hide - hides elements from the Results window

Delete - removes elements from the Results window
